Getting There –Trailhead

From the West – There is no exit to Rocky Peak Road, so you must go to the Topanga Canyon Boulevard exit and reverse direction.

Take 118 to Topanga Canyon Boulevard exit.

Take a left at the bottom of the ramp and go under the freeway, but stay in the left most lane.  This will put you in a left turn lane to go back on the 118 freeway in the west direction.  Take a left onto the onramp for 118 west.  Then follow the directions below.

From the East-
Take the 118 West.  Exit at Rocky Peak Road, turn left.  Cross the freeway and park where the overcrossing meets Santa Susanna Road.  Parking before crossing the freeway will result in a parking ticket. Gear up, cross back over the freeway, and head up the dirt road.  Climb for about 0.8 miles.  At road for, select the branch that continues climbing.  Hummingbird trailhead is marked and on the left.

From the West –

There is no exit to Rocky Peak Road from the West, so you have to go down to the Topanga Canyon exit and reverse direction.

From the East -

Take 118 West.  Exit Rocky Peak Road, turn left, cross the freeway, turn right.  You're now on Santa Susana Pass Road.  It will eventually make a sweeping right turn and become Kuehner Drive.  Follow it until it goes under the 118 freeway, and go straight (Kuehner bears left).  Park in the dirt on the right.  You'll exit here from Hummingbird.

Alternate to shuttle  -  Hummingbird could be reversed, but if you're going that route there would be little reason to continue down past the "Cave," since the rest (a mile, at least) is basically just a roll out.  I imagine you could reverse it from there, with a Muni, in an hour or so.  But really, the ride is set up to shuttle.  A better option for an out and back would be Devil's Slide.  It's really only the first half mile that's super duper, and you could reverse that in 30 minutes or less.

Devil's slide (Stage Coach Trail)
Trailhead Trail Description - Hard stone with swirls - lots of uneven surfaces - tractoring a must, brakes useless

Getting There -
Take 118 West.  Exit Rocky Peak Road, turn left, cross the freeway, turn right.  Take the next left.  Go about 1/2 mile, park in dirt on the left.  Trailhead is beyond the fence to the right, towards Chatsworth.

Take 118 West, Exit Rocky Peak Road, turn left, cross the freeway, turn LEFT.  At Topanga Canyon Blvd, turn right.  At Devonshire, turn right.  Enter the park, and park as far in as you can.  This is where Devil's slide dumps out.

A better option for an out and back would be Devil's Slide (Stage Coach TRail).  It's really only the first half mile that's super duper, and you could reverse that in 30 minutes or less.

Note that the fun stuff on Devil's slide(Stage Coach Trail) is near the top.  It branches a lot, but all branches wind up back at the park.

Wizz Bang

Wizz Bang is not a trail, but an area about 1 square mile, that consists of a network of trails.  You ride in and hike back out.  The hike out takes about 20 minutes from the very bottom.  The riding terrain varies.  You will find easy fire road, to single track, to lumpy sandstone paths with drainage cracks and even some 1 – 4 foot drops.  A few steep spots with significant drops at the bottom can temp thrill seekers. Many rock formations will allow anyone the creativity to create very challenging lines that will provide that thrill and excitement for a “sick” drop to a mundane rolling effort over some boulders.
